THE Shoalhaven wine region is
thriving, making the Shoalhaven Coast
Winter Wine Festival well worth
putting in the diary.
But if you can't wait until the Queen's
Birthday long weekend, the region's
14 vineyards and wineries are open
for you to enjoy all year round.
A relaxed lunch on a warm day with
chilled white is one of the best ways to
take advantage of what Shoalhaven
Coast Wine Region has to offer.
Officially recognised as a wine
region five years ago, local vineyards
have expanded and diversified and
now offer more than ever.
Local wineries are set on
breathtaking properties and the
people who run them are always up
for a chat, either about their favourite
vintage, or other things to do and see
in the region.
This year, the eighth Shoalhaven
Coast Winter Wine Festival attracted
thousands of people from all over the
country and from abroad.
It has become a permanent booking
on many foodies' calendars with the
three-day event offering samples of
the South Coast's finest wine,

off, next season's wines are off to a

"I think this will be the best year
we've had in about a decade, thanks to
the spring rain," Mr Peat says.
"So many of the local wineries are
diversifying and now offering more for
people who visit."
